Product review: RxBar

I have been wanting to try the RxBars already for quite some time, and since they are now also Whole30 approved, there wasn't a better time than now to give these a test-run. The folks at RxBar were more than willing to send me a few samples.

RxBars are made with 100% paleo ingredients. The protein comes from egg-whites, and other ingredients are also all natural, like dates, figs, almonds, cinnamon, blueberries, apple, cacao, coconut and coconut oil.
Each bar contains 15 grams of protein.

I got all 4 flavors in the mail to try, and to say the least, I was excited!

Coffee Cacao
The best of 2 worlds combined; coffee & chocolate. This is a great tasting bar with a kick, and can be an excellent choice for a quick pre-workout snack in the morning.

Coconut Cacao
Ok, it's pretty obvious that my absolute preference is chocolate anything, and also this bar meets the
standards. Super tasty and full of cacao flavor.
Only one thing surprised me: when I put this bar on the scale, it only weighed 58 grams, as opposed to the 70 grams on the label. Production slip-up?

Apple Cinnamon
If you're an apple pie fan, then this is the flavor for you! The smell of apple and cinnamon jumps out of the package as soon as you open it, what an aroma! Weighing in at 66 grams, this is a delicious, fruity bar.

Blueberry
There's no mistake there, the aroma of blueberry fills your nose, delicious! Super fruity and tasty, even if your
not much of a fruit-bar fan, this one will win you over. A bit too sweet for us though.

The verdict
Con's:
1) The sugar in each bar is quite high, about 24 grams per bar. If you're looking for a low-carb bar, this is not it.
2) We weighed 3 of the 4 bars, and none of them weighed the 70 grams that was claimed on the label.

Pro's:
1) This is a protein bar that can be labeled as 100% paleo. Some products put the name paleo on the label, but still contain whey protein.
2) Also, all of the bars taste really good. Our favorite was definitely the Coffee Cacao.
3) RxBar is Whole30 approved.
