Google+ Cave Food Kitchen: Apple-Basil Chicken burgers

Apple-Basil Chicken burgers

UpgradedSelf.com Perhaps apple & basil aren't 2 things you'd put together quickly, but it simply happened because I had both sitting on my kitchen-bench and they were about to go off. So I took a gamble and was happy with the outcome!

Ingredients (makes 6 burgers)

600 grams of boneless chicken thighs
2 eggs
1 tbsp coconut aminos
1/2 cup coconut flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 apple, peeled and chopped
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

If you can get ground chicken, you're lucky, because you can skip the 1st step. Here, ground chicken is harder to find, so I used a food processor to grind it.

The next step is simply mixing all the ingredients together, make sure it's mixed thoroughly.
As possible idea is to make the mix beforehand, so the spices can flavor the meat even better.

Form 6 patties from the mixture, heat some coconut oil in a frying pan and cook the burgers om medium heat for about 20 mins.

Served with Romanesco broccoli & pumpkin
