Whole30: Day 10

Temperatures have really dropped now, and after yesterdays snowfall, Amsterdam has really turned into a winter wonderland. In case you were wondering, it does get cold here, but these temperatures are quite low for our country, upon waking up, it was -8C (17F) Reason why it's also a bit of a deal, is that a lot of people ride their bike to work (like me, 20km a day) so if the roads are icy, things can get tricky. Hospitals reported a 50% increase in broken bones in the ER yesterday.

Icy Roads & Kale omelet

First meal of the day was similar to the one yesterday,  a 4 egg omelet with kale, cooked in coconut oil, chili flakes and ginger powder.
By the way, all meals I cook, are either in coconut oil, red palm oil or ghee.
A little side with coconut milk, berries, nuts & dried fig, but I actually thought the fig was too sweet, so didn't eat it all. Interesting.

Next meal was simple (and nicely prepped, see yesterday's picture)
Green beans, 2 small burgers, zucchini & tomato. Added a bit of mustard and olive oil.

Pre-workout, I had a banana & a few walnuts. Apparently this worked, because I hit a deadlift PR of 95kg :-)

Then dinner, simply some salmon in ghee, steamed broccoli and carrots, and a side salad.

  1. Where do you buy your coconut oil? I've only found it in the Chinese district so far, but it's always refined.

  2. Are you in Amsterdam? If so, Ekoplaza sells it, De Tuinen. I buy mine online though, since they have quite a good deal: http://www.vitamientjenodig.nl/producten/witsenburg-bio-kokosolie-geurloos
