Google+ Cave Food Kitchen: Casserole Anything

Casserole Anything

I love oven dishes, but was getting a little tired of making stuff in lasagna style, plus tomato sauce can add quite a bit of carbs. But a casserole is a great way to combine all the left-over foods you have in your fridge and turn it into a delicious meal.
My Sunday casserole turned out to be this:
(ignore the bean sprouts)

500 grams of ground beef
1 broccoli
1 green pepper
1/2 cup frozen spinach, defrosted
1 Chinese cabbage
3 slices of Gouda cheese
2 eggs
salt & pepper
2 tbsp heavy cream

Cook the beef in a pan, add the green pepper, cabbage and spinach.
Meanwhile, bring water to a boil and cook the broccoli for a few minutes.
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, cream, salt & pepper. Layer the bottom of an oven dish (or a "vessel") with the broccoli,
spread the meat mix on top. Pour the egg mix in and top it with the cheese. Cook in the oven on 180 Celsius for about 20 mins.
