On my way back to eating meat again, I bumped into a true Dutch classic: the slavink. First I wasn't very keen on pork, but I later decided to give it a shot anyway, only opting for the organic kind.
I remember the slavink very well from childhood, usually served with a side of cooked potatoes and veggies and a generous scoop of gravy on top.
As the Wikipedia page says, it's a version of the
"blinde vink" where the gound meat is wrapped in a veal cutlet or a slice of ham.
How Paleo/Keto can you go? Meat wrapped in meat??
Dutch food is a very basic, no nonsense type of cuisine, with meat being a important ingredient. In the next while, I plan to post more topics!
As a Dutch Ketonian, I can approve this message :)
